As of October 1, 2025, the deposit return system is in effect in Poland
As of October 1, 2025, the deposit return system is in effect in Poland. This means that when you buy drinks in plastic bottles up to 3 liters, reusable glass bottles, or aluminum cans up to 1 liter, you’ll pay a deposit – usually 50 groszy.
You’ll get your deposit back when you return the empty container to one of the collection points (for example, in a store). You don’t need a receipt – the only requirement is that the packaging carries the deposit system mark.
It’s a simple way to protect the environment and support recycling efforts!
