COP 30 conference in Belém

Date:
Listopad 11, 2025
Yesterday, the COP 30 conference began in Belém, Brazil, and will continue from 10 to 21 November 2025. This is the world’s most important forum dedicated to tackling climate change, bringing together the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) — including the European Union and all its Member States. The EU delegation is led by the European Commission and the Danish Presidency.
This year’s conference in Belém is particularly symbolic, marking the 20th anniversary of the Kyoto Protocol’s entry into force and the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement.
👉 On 21 October 2025, the Council of the EU adopted its common negotiating position, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, in line with the Paris Agreement.
Key EU priorities at COP 30:
💚 raising global climate ambition and joint action to keep the 1.5°C goal within reach
💧 progress on climate adaptation
💶 stronger financial mobilization for climate action
⚡ accelerating the global energy transition
COP 30 in Belém is a crucial moment to assess progress and define the next steps toward a sustainable and climate-resilient future for our planet. 🌱
