The European Commission takes action to support a clean and competitive automotive sector!

The European Union has presented a new package for the automotive industry, aimed at supporting the sector’s transition while taking market realities into account. In a significant shift, the Commission now proposes a 90% reduction in average CO₂ emissions instead of the previously planned 100% reduction for new cars from 2035.

The EU's climate target for 2040

The European Union’s environment ministers recently convened to advance the bloc’s 2040 climate target, while grappling with how to translate ambition into action.
The Commission has proposed amending the European Climate Law to set a target of 90 % net greenhouse-gas emissions reduction by 2040 (vs 1990 levels).
